Dealing with Mocking

A word of advice when dealing with a scoffer:

"He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself."

Proverbs 9:8

"So don't bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you."

Proverbs 15:12
New International Version (©1984)
"A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise."

Proverbs 19:25
New Living Translation (©2007)
"If you punish a mocker, the simpleminded will learn a lesson; if you correct the wise, they will be all the wiser."

Proverbs 15:5
New Living Translation (©2007)
"Only a fool despises a parent's discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise."

Proverbs 8:12

"I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,* and I find knowledge and discretion."
