Homophobic?

Is saying that homosexuality is a sin being homophobic?

by Matt Slick

One of the battles the homosexuals and lesbians have waged in their attempt to get homosexuality accepted in American culture is the war of words.  The terms "homophobe," "homophobic," "homophobia," are often used to describe anyone who disagrees with homosexuality.  Generally speaking, if they can get us to react to their words on their terms, much of the battle is already won by them.  Such is the case with accusing anyone who disapproves of homosexuality as being homophobic. The intent is to use a term that has a negative emotional connotation and use it in such a way as to accuse the guilty party of unwarranted prejudice and discrimination.  It is, ultimately, a disingenuous way of dealing with the issue.  Generally speaking, when such tactics are used it is because the intellectual arguments in support of it are not that strong.

Collectivism

With all the news about nationalism around the world, Italy, Poland, Hungary, USA, China, Japan, there is a strong sentiment with the Millennial generation of collectivism. They feel the need to be part of a group. Most college students are not interested in individualism but identifying themselves in popular culture.

Roman Religion

Christianity conquered Rome because it had no moral compass. But the Romans were very religious and ritualistic.
Looking at Rome before Christianity came in, Rome was a sacrificial society. There were various deities that they were to sacrifice to, on certain days and times and specific instructions on how to sacrifice. It was not about ethics or morality.

The Gay "Christian"

Homosexuals are deceived if they think they find in Scripture that their lifestyle is okay with God, and that they cannot change. This list of sins (which encompass most, if not all, of the Ten Commandments) makes it clear who will not be included in the kingdom of God. However, Paul says to those who are now believers, “And such were some of you” (v. 11). No matter what their sins, God can wash sinners clean and make them righteous in His sight. See Jude 7 comment.

Can You Trust Your Child?

If you don’t trust that your child knows in their heart that they are a different gender than what they were assigned at birth, or that they know who they love, you risk damaging their self-esteem. How would you like to live the rest of your life being told something that is fundamentally true about yourself, that you know to your core, has to be hidden and denied? Would you feel depressed, anxious, and live in fear of having that secret show up unexpectedly as you went about your everyday life? Is that the future you want for your child “in case it’s a phase”?

Your child can dress as their preferred gender. It’s just clothes, and a wardrobe can be switched back at any time and any age. If your child is older and flirting with puberty, or just entered puberty and it is causing them distress, you can talk to your doctor about puberty blockers. They are reversible, and delaying puberty gives you more time to explore their gender identity. If this is a phase or something cool to do, you can ride it out.

The Amish

The Amish and separation from the world

by Luke Wayne
9/26/16

A central concept behind much of the Amish lifestyle and practice is the idea of separation from the world. Of course, the Amish would agree that this means to be separate from overtly wicked worldly practices like murder, adultery, fornication, deceit, fraud, idolatry, and a host of other things obviously condemned as sinful in the scripture. To most Amish, however, the idea of separation from the world extends far beyond this.
