Genesis 6:13-14 (KJV)
"And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Make you an ark of gopher wood; rooms shall you make in the ark, and shall pitch it within and without pitch."
*The Greek definition for pitch is atonement.

"And behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, form under the heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die."
He will give us His Word to spread upon the earth, so that we don't have to die from His wrath.

"And take to you of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to you; and it shall be for food for you, and for them."
The food is the word of God, and we are to gather it into our minds, and spread it throughout the world.
Chapter 7:16
"And they went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in."
We can also turn to the new testament in the book of Matthew chapter 4, where Jesus refers to the food saying, verse 4,
"It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."
The LORD God, flooded the whole world. The Ark was the salvation and water proofed by atonement. God closed the door and saved Noah from the destruction to come by the flood.
Only true believers can come into the Ark for salvation and only God can close the door.
