Spiritual Maturity

Read | Acts 17:21, 1 Corinthians 16:13

Act like men! Learn your doctrine so that you can be confident in your convictions. Be manly! In modern terminology; Man up! You are not steadfast in faith until you are truly mature, so learn what you believe before you go around preaching that point of doctrine to be the only one important doctrine than all the others. Defend the faith in a manly way. This applies to everyone in the church. Be steadfast and courageous.
"Quit you like men" - 1 Corinthians 16:13 (KJV). In the late 20th century Evangelical Christians had taken this wrongfully and read it as "Quit being like men!" The actual Greek meaning is "Be men." The English Standard Version and New American Standard Bible reads; "Act like men." In modern terminology; be courageous, be brave! So many Evangelical Christians dress up in warriors clothes and pretend to be men of God. If you're going to enter the battle in earnestness, you're going to battle the world that hates you. If you're faithful, you will be persecuted. It's not enough to be bold, but you must be strong.
