The Truth About Yoga

'The PraiseMoves program utilizes gentle stretches that correlate with Scripture verses. There's "The Eagle" stretch, where the arms are pulled back to resemble a bird in flight. While students hold this stretch, Laurette reads Isaiah 40:31: "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles" (NKJV). Other stretches include "The Angel" (Psalm 91:11), "The Rainbow" (Genesis 9:16), and "The Altar" (Romans 12:1). At each session's end, students are asked to prayerfully consider a verse from the Bible, or to spend some quiet time expressing gratitude to God.' - davidicke.com

The Problem With Yoga
Yoga wants to get students to the point of complete numbness in their minds. God, on the other hand, wants you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind through His Word. Christians cannot use scripture to back up 'Christian Yoga.' There is no verse in scripture that tells us to worship this way. The Bible especially says not to worship like the pagans.

In Exodus 32 we see God's people worshipping a golden calf and sacrificing to it. "Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did. Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, 'The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.' " 1 Cor. 10:5-7. Throughout the Old Testament we see God telling His people not to worship other gods.

People are sadly just naive of what they are actually doing when they practice yoga. They think that their minds are right and focused on Jesus, but the reality is they are not worshipping Jesus, but actually worshipping demons. The devil will work his way inside the church; the church is attacked from within, and the sheep are being strayed away from another voice. Worship as God has called us to worship, not as the pagans (Hindus) teach. This is another plague to stray away the sheep from the shepherd. God does not want us to follow any pagan religion. "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons." 1 Cor. 10:21.

"Is Satan, as the master deceiver, really stupid enough not to have thought of developing pagan religions that copy the eventual true one, so as to mislead people into believing Christianity is false? People only try to counterfeit real money, not Monopoly money." - Pagan Origins Of The Christ Myth (pocm.info)

The Truth About Yoga
It's a philosophy from Hinduism. It is a way of life. It is a false religion.

Yoga was a practice of postures dedicated to Hindu gods: the practice was engaged ceremonially to summon Asiatic deities whose names are are uttered through its chants, verbal sounds, and physical gestures; it's designed to empty yourself out and invoke other spirits to inhabit a worshipper's body.

"There are thousands of Hindu gods, naturally, as everything and everybody is god. However, there are a few that receive more worship than others. One of the main gods is called Shiva. Shiva is a god of destruction who has a wife named Kali, the mother goddess of power, illness and death. Shiva is represented in drawings as having a cobra coiled around his neck or head. The serpent or cobra is worshiped extensively throughout Hinduism. It is not unusual to hear Shiva referred to as a "god of light" by various yoga teachers. They represent Shiva as something very desirable. Yoga students are taught to "reach for Shiva, or light." The average Western yoga student has no idea of who or what Shiva really is. When they reach out to the "light of Shiva," they are reaching out to a demon god." - chick.com
